Hi guys:
I have a 2006 A6 with F55 and am considering headers. Don't know much about this stuff, but have been searchbing for info. A few questions. First, LG says you can get up to 40 HP and 40 lb-ft torque increase. True or false? Second, any warranty problems? Third, (my wife asked) what is the effect on gas milage? (Seems to me in theory it should have either no effect or improve milage.) Fourth, is a tune really necessary after installing headers? Last, for you guys that have done this work, have you been happy with the results? Thanks.

I have a C6 MN6 with LG Pro headers. I have not dynoed it (next Sunday) yet but most folks here pick up anywhere from 25-35 horsepower from longtubes. So while 40/40 may be a stretch, you definately will pickup quite a bit of HP/TQ
Longtubes will void your emissions warranty, but thats all, not your total warranty, and also fail a visual emssions inspection (even with Cats)
Gas mileage will probably improve a bit, say 1 or 2 miles per gallon, if you take it easy of course, which will be harder to do with all that new power and the better sound coming from your exhaust!
As I mentioned above, I have LG Pros, with BB Bullets, Vararam CAI, 160 stat and a tune. I think it was worth every penny I spent!

Appreciate the reply. If I understand this correctly, when I get the notice from the state to have my car emission tested in Illinois, I will not be able to pass? That could be a show stopper.
