Thanks, that chart answers my question. I will be switching to RP.
ME TOO!!. I was on a 250 mile drive yesterday to San Diego and back to get more miles on my engine before L.A.P.D. does my APS TT install - I now have about 3,200 miles and am looking to have 4,000. One of the things I was thinking about as I was darting about in a combination of heavy and light traffic was the relatively slow function of the syncros when changing gears. It brought to mind an 84 Z28 w/5sp that I had owned until it was stolen. The problem with the transmission was poor sycro response when shifting. I complained to the dealers and they said the factory recomended installing the trans fluid used in the S10 pickups. It was a little shift on the first few shifts in the morning but after that words can't describe how lightning fast that thing would shift with no draging of the teeth. It was so fast it was like nothing was there. Simply unbelieveable. I decided I would look into something today and here this thread shows up. Sure would be nice to find something that worked close to what I have experienced before. It seems to me that ever since they started using automatic transmission fluid in manuals they have never been the same.
I came to the vette family from mustangs. I owned 4 mustangs during the 80's and into the 90's. Then I purchased 91 vette vert and auto, by the way big mistake getting the auto, and I am so happy to have a man. again. But I can tell you the mustangs up-shifted much smoother IMO than this car. I am hoping that RP will smooth the shifts out, any improvement will be worth while.
