The lowering is the same as the C5 fronts. If you want to go lower than what the stock bushings allow you can either cut the bushings or we have a kit that takes place of the stock bushings.
My understanding is that by using the OEM bolts and bushings you can lower the car by 7/8".
I have also read that if you stay within these limits you will not need to do an alignment. Then earlier today I read the opposite on another forum. Which is accurate?
Also would like to know how ride quality is affected.

Here is my answer to maybe the most misunderstood subject on this forum.
1. All corvettes have different ride heights when they leave the factory. There is a range of heights the cars fall into so the ride height of your car from the factory is most likely different than mine and your neighbor.
Some cars will lower 7/8", some will lower 1". Mine only lowered 1/4" (2 turns) in the rear and 5/8" in the front. Had to cut the rear bushings.
2. There is absolutely no way anyone can tell you if your car will need an alignment even if you only lower it 1/4". As in the ride height, the alignment is set at the factory within a range of specs. Let's say your camber is set at the edge of the tolerance, almost out of specs. You lower the car by only 1/4" and bingo, you are out of specs. Time for an alignment. The car before you and the one after might not need an alignment after lowering. All depends on where the alignment is before you lower the car.
The rule is: Have it checked, align if necessary.
I had my alignment checked and it was out of specs. (after lowering)
3. The ride quality on mine did not change at 5/8".

do you know if the C6Z uses different spring bushings or different bolts from the C6? the C6Z seems to sit lower on average than any C6.
perhaps the different fenders have revised arches?

My 2007 C6Z measured 27.0 inches at the front fender lip to ground, and the rear 28.0 inches. I could only get one and a half turn of the bolt in the rear, which resulted in only an eighth to quarter inch difference in height. I have notice a few Zs which appear lower, the owners claim they have not adjusted the height, but these cars had 10K to 16K miles on them..Perhaps things settle with use?????

hmmm
i know some C4's had problems with front spring sag over time.wonder if thats whats happening here.
i have the C6 z suspension with c6z rear quarters. it lowered about 3/4" over several days once i cranked the bolts in the rear to max position
i would like it 1/4' lower but dont realy want to cut bushings. maybe with time....
