Gas cap won't click shut.

Gas cap won't click shut.
Anyone have this problem? The cap can just be pulled straight off and won't click shut when I reinstall it after a fill-up. Could this trigger a code or effect performance?

The same thing happened to my gas cap - no clicky. I was able to turn it clockwise without pressing in and it tighten enough so you couldn't just pull it off. Drove around that way for about a month without throwing any codes then had the dealer replace it under warranty. Good luck. -Jim

As mentioned, the key is to not push in too much. Just put the cap on by inserting and then turn to the right. The cap will rotate onto the latch dogs and seal. If you try to push in and turn to the right, the gasket grips the filler neck and won't let the cap rotate until it clicks and seals.
