When I went to get in my C6 (2005) I received an error code that said steering wheel locked. I have read posts about this on older models but nothing with the new C6 series. When I try to start the car it says that the FOB is not recognized. Then after inserting the key in the glove box, it now states the steering wheel lock needs to be serviced. When trying to start the car the whole instrument panel lights up and flashes continually.
Do I need to have the car towed in or I am missing something? I have two remotes and neither of them will do anything, not even open the trunk.

Have you checked the battery? Use a volt meter and see what the voltage is. Sounds like you need to have it flat bedded to the dealer.
Can't I just replace the battery if that is the problem?
Perhaps you can just recharge it. Try this, with the fob in the glovebox pocket, hold down the accessory position of the start button for 10 seconds. That puts you in ignition on engine off mode. Now punch the gauges button of the DIC and cycle through to battery voltage. It should read about 12.6 volts. If it doesn't, you have a low battery, which can cause the symptoms you describe. Now manually turn on the headlights with the stalk control. If the voltage drops more than a couple of tenths, you have a bad battery. If it doesn't drop, then a recharge should fix you right up.
