It bogged b/c you need just a little more juice. Try 3k rpms. Feather as you did.
Lots of people have DRs. I got 1.8s consistently on my 60', but my best times weren't much different. 12.8, 12.9 in 90 degree weather; hot and humid. My mph was lower than yours - 108. What did you say the temp was?
well is there a certain size i need to buy? or just a factory C5 wheel will work and then what is the best sized DR that goes on it 295/35/18s nittos i had on my last car
my biggest problem is wheel hop, launch any thing above 1000rpm, i get wheel hop (stock run flats), and then again on the 1-2 shift, and a little on 2-3 shift. not sure if it is the track prep or what? aren't you guys with the manual tranny not getting wheel hops? thanks
and i was power shifting and there was no wheel hop
must be the track prep, i don't even power shift, i do lift off for a split second between shift...can't image how bad the hops would be if i were to power shift.
With all my cars I always bring the rpms up to 2000 and as soon as I get the light I release the clutch FAST.
As soon as I feel it grab I go all out and this always results in 1.8s or 1.9s.
UNTIL THE C6 THAT IS
My 1st pass trying it this way resulted in a 2.30 60' on the way to a 12.89@114.8 and my 2nd pass resulted in a 2.26 60' and a 12.91
I was very upset with these 60' times as I knew my car could run better if I could launch.
One of my Mustang buddies was there and he suggested I bring the revs up, but instead of releasing the clutch fast, he said I should slowly release the clutch as I feed in the throttle slowly.
He said say "ONE CHIMPANZEE" to myself and by the end of ZEE I should be off the clutch and at Full throttle.
I tried it and my 3rd pass was a 2.02 60' on the way to a 12.55@115.85

Only mods at the time were a cai and a catback.
All shifts were lift throttle.
Hope this helps,
Howard
I've been having similar problems. I would rev to 2k then let the clutch out fast; the result were not impressive at all.
So what you are suggesting is rev to 3k, begin to let the clutch out to it engages, when it does, mash the gas as i continue to slowly let the clutch out?
As I got the light I slowly fed in throttle and slowly came off the clutch.
So as I was feeding more and more throttle I was coming more and more off the clutch, slipping it until I finally was totally off the clutch and totally in the gas.

Close - just don't mash the gas; ease on it as you ease off the clutch. Should take 1/2 a second.
