Default Ignition with C6 start button

How do you turn just the ignition on (I want to bleed the brakes with ABS activated) with the start button?

Hit the start button without depressing the clutch pedal.

I have never tried the way that Cowboy1963 posted but you hold down the bottom of the button (as if turning on acc mode) for about 5 seconds. This will put the car in ignition on mode without engaging the starter. Make sure that you hold it long enough, you should see the check engine light come on since the engine is not running.

That sounds right. I didn't take the time to look it up and I was going from memory.

I've seen "10 seconds" posted here in the past but I'm sure mine takes less than 10 seconds. I think mine only takes about 5 seconds or so. I just did it a few hours ago and it definitely did not seem like 10 seconds. Maybe I'll time it next time Get out the digital stop watches... we can see who's is the fastest

No I don't have a Tech II but have had good results with doing a bleed sequence with ignition on (ABS activated / cycled) and then a bleed sequence with the ignition off on C5.

Thanks for everyones reply that is just the info I needed.
