Default C6 aps dual exaust...

well i've been trying to locate an APS exhaust and have been quoted 3000 ...the actual price is 1700 but no dealers or stocking dealers seem to have it and want to charge 1300 for shipping! this is too damn expensive for this exhaust..
wouldn't at least some dealers stock this exhaust? does anyone here know how to get one at a reasonable price?
any possibility for group buy??

btw i know there are other exhausts out there but imho APS has the best quality/look/performing exhausts i've seem(i've owned one for 350z).

thanks in advance,
-michael

1300 to ship it

I almost pi$$ed myself laughing so hard.

Give me 1300, I'll drive and get it and hand deliver it to you. Tell the dealers to Pixx off. Give some of the other companies popular here a look. Most make some real nice vette products, better than some of their other offerings for other cars. How can you go wrong with Borla 4" tips with that rumble.

Geeezz!!! For that shipping charge, you could buy a small used truck and enough gas to go get it your self. Thats crazy and the retailer should be ashamed.

Default aps exhaust

to clarify a bit...the aps dealer(in california) told me that the shipping cost is to bring the exhaust in from australia(aps headquarters). I still think this is way too much...and why don't any of the aps dealers have this exhaust stocked??? they all have aps twin turbo kits stocked and with no crazy charges to bring them in the US....now i won't state who gave me these price quotes but they are a very reputable shop from southern cali...

if anyone knows of this exhaust and how to get ahold of one for reasonable price, please let me know

Michael, Let me know what state your in and I will get you an approximate cost to air freight the true dual 3 inch exhaust to the US, air freight is not inexpensive though certainly fast and very convenient.

Hey Peter -

I'm getting the same story at all the Vette shops here in Houston, TX. I am actually looking to do both the TT and the exhaust, but none of the shops here stock it, and they all want a rediculous amount to get it. Can you give me a quote to 77079? Thanks!

hey Jeremy, if you're after a complete twin turbo system and true dual 3 inch exhaust I would recommend the guys at LAPD as they are importing products from APS frequently. Give shawn a call as I'm sure he will service you promptly and look after you with a fair price.

Default aps exhaust

btw..i was quoted these prices from LAPD...don't remeber who i spoke with but was told the price was 1750 for exhaust and about 3000 total price for importing + exhaust....
not trying to cause trouble with lapd guys cause i've read about their work here, and it seems like they have overwhelming amount of satisfied customers...but the 1300 seemed much to import an exhaust especislly if they import for you aps guys alot.....i've bought several special imported japanese parts in the past and had never run into these types of costs.....but if it does cost this much then let it be....i'd have to go with different exhaust.

thanks for any input you guys at APS or LAPD could give me..

-michael
also, im planning on doing the twin turbo kit, but can't afford as of now so i wanted to start with your exhaust...thanks again

I have a feeling that LAPD may have made a honest blunder on the freight quoted to you on the exhaust system (maybe they had a quote for 3 exhaust systems) I checked on our current air freight rates to LA, the air freight cost for the true dual 3 inch exhaust system would be approx $450 US dollars (excluding any local taxes), hope that helps.

Most welcome. It must simply be an honest blunder on the freight cost you were quoted as there's no other logical explanation, good luck and let me know how you get on.
