Default Std. suspension sway bars, WHY??

Looking under my 06(std. susp.) it looks like GM forgot to balance
the sway bars! The front looks twice the size of the rear. Small front
tires and big sway bar, not real great for a balanced car. Probably why it feels like I have to force the car to turn. Why not just change the
rear bar for a Z51 rear bar?? Unless the rear spring and shocks are a
lot stiffer than the front then it should make the car more neutral. In
which case I would need a smaller front bar or wider front tires. Now
that's not a bad idea either.

I think Rex Stump designed that suspension when he did the C5 and since he is now head of chassis developement for Hendricks NASCAR team, I would recommend that you send your resume to the guy that replaced Dave Hill at GM, it sounds like they need you.

Default Arrogant reply response.

Is that guy your brother or what? I asked a question. Will a Z51 rear
bar only balance out the suspension, since it's the general feeling that
GM builds push into the suspension setup. If you don,t have a resonable
response don,t reply. If you really know the facts then educate the rest of us, with out being a clown.

I swapped my sways to the Z51 bars with my F55 suspension. It is a nice, inexpensive suspension mod. I highly recommend the change. Car corners flat, and really haven't noticed any ride harnishness or negative aspects.

Because of Eurorod's posts I have bought aftermarket sways from MSI( a supporting vendor)for inst this friday. I was told they are just a touch more stiff than the Z06 front and rear sway bars. Why they dont stock Z06 bars instead of having these special made for their shop, I dont know $$$$. He has said he has put these sways on standard 06's with good results. I was told it will keep the same ride characteristics but allow more feel in corners and the over all feel will be tighter.

Default Front Bars the same?

EuroRod......... Was there any difference physically between the
stock Front Bar and The Z51 front bar. I know the rear Z51 bar is much
bigger in Dia.

I installed front and rear z51 sways on my base c6 and their is a big difference better steering. The front bars of the z51 are bigger than the base stock sways and the rears are dramaticly bigger.

FB3 and I just used the standard end links off of the old bars (actually they stayed on the cars, and just the bars were swapped.)

No difference.

ydlee24, I did the same as you and with the same excellent results. I also went to a 275x35x18 on the front.
