Can't seem to get enough clearance to slide the OEM shock out of the front. I even pulled the sway bar off but the A arm doesn't drop low enough to clear the shock. Any tips?
You just have to push up on the shock and then twist the bottom of it and it will come out. You may try jacking the A-arm up to compress the shock and then let it down and twist it out.
Rear shocks are alot ezr to do ,just unbolt and push up on the shock and twist it out
Ok, that is S.O.P. for a front shock on most cars, just want to double check if there was an easier way. The problem I am seeing is that if I compress the shock upwards, the rubber grommet around the top gets pushed back into the frame and requires some time to get it back out. Guess I just have to work as fast as I can before the shock extends. That Z51 shock is a lot stiffer to push in than I thought. Thanks!

You can use big zip ties. You can jack up the supension at the bottom on the outside to compress the shocks. Make sure the bolts are out of the shock at the bottom. Then wrap a few zip ties around the compressed shock. When you lower release the suspension the shocks will still stay compressed while the rest of the suspension lowers. The zip ties can hold the pressure.

Also - any tricks with removing the rear shocks?
All of the suggestions will work. Also if you unbolt the lower ball joint, the lower control arm will drop and give the shock room to slide down and out.
