Default Premium, regular, or in-between--follow up

Thanks for all the responses to my query about choice of octane rating. I was moved by the many replies that suggested using anything less than 91 octane was blasphemous, or at least missing the point. That's what I like about this forum. A Corvette is not just a car, it's an instrument of joy--to look at and to drive; as a 70 year old I am very mindful of those moments. Yesterday a black C6 just like mine approached me from the oncoming lane. We flashed our lights almost simultaneously. I got a chill.... Oh yes, I wouldn't touch a "regular" pump with a ten-foot pole.
