The DVD player which came with my GPS and Radio player, from the factory. My car has the abillity to play DVD's, but only while in park. This does not make sense because who would sit there and watch a movie in their car for 3 hours?

the system can play DVD's while the car is in park or if you have the M6 i believe you have to have the ebrake on

but as of yet there is no way to overide it to where it will play while driving

Default Nope

The Nav from GM will not play a DVD unless you remove it and send it out to have a mod done for input jacks, install a DVD (sep item) that will now connect to the Nav inputs from that mod and get a FM modulator so you can select a specific freq so you can hear it. That is the only way or remove the entire system and install an after market DVD/Nav. Totaol conversion cost about $800 if you do the rest yourself after the Nav unit mod is sent back to you.

A Corvette and the Eagles Farewell Tour blastin' away on the indash DVD. That's livin'. It's less distractful that the cops driving down the interstate at 90 mph try to input to their in-car laptops!
