Corsa Exhaust Question
Can you try to explain a little further the difference in the sound with the A6 H-pipe and the stock H-pipe?
Also, are you basically just running the standard C6 axle-back system at this point? In other words, are the mufflers the same on the A6 and non-A6 versions? I would assume so.
sound in your Corsa Sports #14167 when you first installed it? What
bothered you in "normal driving"? And what exactly is the difference
in sound/volume between your Corsa H-pipe and Stock H-pipe?
C-INRED...I read your C6/A6 Corsa Sports sounds louder after 500 more miles on it. Can you explain why you think that is? I talked to Corda today (regarding my upcoming Monta Carlo Corsa Sports purchase) and told them I have heard from others here their Corsa's get louder with age/mileage. His reply was that its really not possible as nothing wears in their mufflers.

I suppose it could just be that we've spent more time with them and so have had a chance to hear them under more varied operating conditions...but if I were a betting man, I'd bet that they are louder than they were when I first installed them.
With the full Corsa A6 system, I could hear the exhaust note from the rear of the car, but under normal acceleration I also could hear a sound that I can only explain as "air like" coming from under the console. In other words, it sounded like a car with a high flow intake system - like a K&N. Almost like the sound you make when the doctor tells you to exhale deeply and, I didn't like it. That seemed to be all I could hear if I wasn't accelerating hard or cruising. After switching back to the stock H-pipe, I think the system sounds entirely different. Admittedly, there's some resonance under certain conditions (light acceleration after slowing to 10 or 15 MPH or, light acceleration on gentle grades). On the freeway at 70 - 80 MPH, there's a pleasant exhaust sound. If you accelerate, there's a moment of resonance, but in my opinion, it sounds like a muscle car should. Personally, I think I read too much about droning before I installed the new exhaust system. I wanted a muscle car sound for my Vette and that's exactly what I have now. When I want tomb like silence, I drive my LS430. If you're interested and have the ability I suggest you try this swap. Under a lift you're only looking at a 20 minute proposition. The only comment I have to take back from last nights post is that while aligning the tips was easy, they didn't stay aligned. Today I had to have them realigned and then I had the shop tack weld the joint where the H-pipe joins the over the axle pipe. In fact, all of the clamped joints are tack welded since this is the best way to keep things aligned. The welds can easily be removed if necessary.
C-INRED - yes, I'm using the Corsa over the axle pipes and mufflers with the stock H-pipe now. The sound is definately bolder now, but not too loud. After all, this arrangement eliminates 2 mufflers and 2 additional pipe joints and also, about 25 pounds.

Took my 2007 C6/A6 (with Corsa 14167) out very early this morning on quiet streets and could NOT hear any "air like" sound coming under the console with my excellent hearing whether just gliding with no throttle on, cruising, or any kind of acceleration including WOT. So it must be a difference in hearing or something was wrong with your install and/or those weep holes you were toying with. Anyways, glad your happy now with your half stock and Corsa system.

Why let a little snow and cold weather spoil Vette fun?
Put my Pipedream muds flaps, clear sill protectors, painted roof and GoodyearEagle F1 A/S C EMT All Seasons on my 2007 coupe and ready to go for winter
... that is unless the snow gets too high as I dont want to give free snow plows on the street
Probably the main reason though is that I got another car as my garage queen.
