Yea, I hear ya, and I agree, but I don't have pucks, ramps, jacks or anything yet & I need it done asap. Was hoping there was a dealership in this area that came highly recommended.
I buy my own oil (redline) and filter, then go to the local speedy/greasy joint and pay them $24.00 for the drain and refill.
to me it's worth the money not to have to crawl around under the car, not to mention having to dispose of the oil. time was when you could just pour the used oil into a hole in a dark corner of your back yard, but the dirt worshippers frown on that kind of activity these days.
At 8 or 9 buck a quart + $24.00 it's not worth the hassle. 21st Century Muscle Cars will do it for $85 and it's by the same techs that do all that fine engine work.

With all the horror stories regarding the quick lubs, I would do it yourself, understanding that you do not have the nesseserry items to complete this task i would have the dealer do it. If he breaks it, he can fix it.
Where's the best place to get an oil change in the DFW area?
I do Corvette oil changes using Mobil 1 synthetic and Delco filter for $65 out the door. I look the entire car over while it's in the air and let the owner take a peek underneath too.
I don't make a mess pouring the oil in the engine and I always reset the oil change interval in the instrument cluster. Several of my clients have told me horror stories of getting their oil changes at dealers or quicky places.
Give me a call or email if your interested. My shop is on Pioneer Pkwy between Fielder & Bowen.

Reason: fixed sig
The trip to the lube place is just the same as going to Wal-mart or whoever and picking up the rhino ramps/jack/stands. You're going to need it anyway.
I am also the type where changing the oil at 4000 miles isn't much different than changing the oil at 4200 miles.
