They want you to cut the shroud in place.I got a shroud with the unit( seller was nice enough to include it) boy, what a pain in the a$$ changing the shroud out!. I am glad I did it , me and the car got a chance to bond for a few hours. Any way, I love the intake, lots of cool air going in makes the car happy! At 130 when you hit the gas the car has lots of pull.( this is of course hypothetical, cause I would never go that fast) Good mod, even if the shroud got the better of me for a while

When I cut my shroud in place installing the vortex I hit the a/c condencer. Had to pull the condencer, have it fixed, reinstall, then drive it back and have the a/c recharged. Now that was a pain in the a$&. Good move getting a new shroud allready cut. Would have saved me a lot of trouble. That top cut is dam close to the con. unit if done in place.

I tried cutting my shroud in place, for the most part it went well but I was given uncorrect template so it was not right. Then I got a pre-cut shroud and had to swap it in....I agree, what a PITA job that was!!

Now, after doing it once I think the second or third try would go much better....but I hope I don't have to find out!
