between " meets or exceeds DOT 4 " and super dot 4 ??? I used the meets or exceeds on mine. I got it at pep boys. is super dot 4 a marketing ploy. if a product exceeds the dot standard what more do you need? I am serious, not stiring stuff up, I just want the best fluid for the vette, thanks

I don't really know the answer but my owner's manual specifies super dot 4 so that's what I got. I think the bottom line is it absorbs less water and has higher boiling points. I read this:
Since DOT 4 fluids were developed, it was recognized that borate ester based fluids offered the potential for boiling points beyond the 446F requirement, thus came the Super DOT 4 fluids - some covered by the DOT 5.1 designation - which exhibit a minimum dry boiling point of 500F (same as silicone, but different chemistry).

I got that 'meets or exceeds' synthetic stuff at Pep boys.
I cleaned out the reservoir about 6 times, with the 'turkey baster' and refilled it with this stuff. The clutch works fine.
I can't find DOT-4 locally. Not at AutoZone, not at Sears.
Walmart has Prestone DOT 4 -12 oz can about $2.60. Its synethic and is compatiable with the factory stuff. Buy 3 cans. That what it takes to get it clear or close to clear.
