Default PCM programming update 12613186

Supposed to address the Dead Battery Syndrome.
Exactly how?
Car is running perfectly - do not want to change it.
Someone on the forum said it added a stopwatch.
That's the extent of what I know.
Anybody have any insight on this?

The following comes from GM. The reference number is not what you posted but I believe it's the same thing. This pertains to 2005 cars ONLY!

There has been a PI (preliminary
information) released into the GM service information system. PIC4188A
dated Sept 11, 2006. New software for the ECM has been released and if the
dealership has updated the Tech2 the latest software should be loaded and
will correct it. This is one of several corrections that we have been
working on. It addresses the situation when a vehicle is lost between the
battery shut down and the fuel evaporative check. This has been known to
correct several cars with the DBS. It is important that everything in the
check sheet be reviewed as they have been found as the major causes of dead
batteries.

I've got the updated software and from an end user point of view I have not noticed any differences. I had a stop watch before under the trip settings on the DIC and I still do (C5's had it also) . I never had DBS before and [crosses fingers] I hope I never do!
