I took my 05 a6 c6 to the dealer last month with a noise in the rear end. They change the diff oil and added additive to it. It was fine and now the noise came back again but worse. When i turn slowly left or right especially when cold it make a really bad grinding noise and when the car jerks slighlty it make a slapping noise and it feels like its the rear end. What do you guys think. I did drop it off this morning at the dealership.
Check out this thread - there is a copy of the TSB relating to this problem. You can cut & paste into Word or Notepad and take a copy to the dealer with you. I have the same problem - just haven't had the time to get it in for repair yet. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...&highlight=tsb
I had same diff problem with 06 c6 a6 and dealer changed out grease and added an lub addatitive. They noted on the invoice it would take up to 100 miles to correct itself. Well if they had added another zero (0) they would have had it correct. It took a 1000 miles to finally correct it out and it drives and turns nicely now. This is probably not an over nite or weekly fix, probably longer to correct itself with new lubes.

Haven't had any problem with my c6 but did have the same thing occur with several c2's and c3's. I also changed the differential fluid several times along with the additive but the problem would reoccur again in as few as 2000 miles. Finally solved the problem with AMSOIL syntheic differential fluid for posi's. I still have the same '79 when I discovered the fix back in 1981, no problems since. Works fine lasts a long time.
