Default Help launching the A6

I picked the A6 thinking that it would be the best of both worlds. If I had it to do over again, I would have went with the MN6.

In "S" mode, I've tried to launch hard but get nothing but wheel spin. When I baby it the car hooks up better but then what's the point, the other guy will get a nice jump from a light. I don't go around racing all of the time but it would be nice to get the launch down for those certain times you want to get on it.

When using the paddles, the car just feels like a dog. Definately not the same feeling as the MN6.

I also have the a6 and on a decent road surface I can mash the pedal and get absolutely no wheelspin.In fact sometimes I would like a bit and can't get it.

I'm actually kind of disappointed that I can't spin the wheels from a stoplight. It just grabs and goes. I've ran a 12.52 at 114.4 at Firebird, so it is definitely not a dog.

Do you have the base or the Z51? I have the Z51 and the supercar tires are a lot stickier.

Mine was like this also, UNTIL I got a CoW tune and had TM removed. Now if I get on it hard w/ traction control off, I get a lot of wheelspin, but nothing that can't be controlled by the throttle. I have found no difference in launch between D and S.

I get very good traction as well, and that's with tire pressures slightly higher than 30. What pressure are you running, and would a couple pound drop help you?

There is really a simple solution for this.

On the street in my A4/3.15 in anything except HOT weather with STICKY STREETS I need to leave TC ON so that the car will not spin al the way through 1st in to 2nd.

At the track, I can turn TC OFF and just hammer it from off idle and cut a 1.9 60'.

So, street = TC ON
Track = TC OFF

Don't think launching the Manual C6 is easy, it is giving me fits, but it is FUN!!!

I think part of the problem is the run flats (non-Z51). It was also a cool morning (58F) and I was in Comp mode. I'm looking into getting some better tires. I would love to just stomp on it and have the car hook up.

I think you are 100% correct. Non Z51 tires and cold weather is the issue. Even with the Z51 tires, anything that cold and I spin. Since I live in Arizona I don't get cold weather very often.

I have the non-Z51 runflats on both my C6s, they are slick.

Base with 3,000 miles on the runflats and it just bites and goes---unless it is cold out and then it gets little to no traction.
