Second Solo 2 in my C6
I started with 32 psi in the fronts and they were perfect. Last time the car was pushing in every corner, very frustrating! The car would still push if I hit the corner too fast, but it was easy to nail the brakes to get the front to grip then hit the gas to kick out the rear.
I shifted back and forth between 1st and 2nd on the first two runs and I shouldn't have. On the third, I left the A6 in first (it's good for 50 mph in first and the course was very tight) and it was a blast to drive. I went from a 45.5 seconds to a 43.5 to 42.5 to a 41.4 (we had 4 runs). Excellent improvements as I'm still learning how to drive this car. You have to be so careful in first gear as it will immediately spin the tires, but staying in first helps the car turn into the corners when you let off.
Overall, it's an absolute blast to drive. I still haven't done an autocross alignment and I know it would help. It's just I don't want to make the car darty on the street, plus I don't want to wear out the insides of the tires with the high negative camber settings this car needs.
As far as Traction Control and Active Handling, I turned both of them off on every run (I remembered this time!). This car is VERY PREDICTABLE, there is no reason for active handling. You can use the brakes to get it to turn in and then use the gas to control the rearend, it's very easy.
Thanks,
Glenn
