What stage DTE are you installing? What lead you to make that choice?

Thats all I have. , but I'm used to it. I have done several 10-bolt to 12-bolt swaps in f-body's on the ground using jack stands.

Stage 3 with 4.10's. I went with these because I go to the dragstrip fairly often and have every intention of launching this car hard sooner or later.

Sounds good. Are you looking into the brace and maybe a high tech carbon drive shaft. If that one breaks (drive shaft) it splinters. The OEM shaft could end up going thru the floor board according to what I've read. Could be wrong.

Yes I am doing the brace as well, but not a new drivwshaft. Maybe down the road I will look in to it.

Don't know if the C5 and C6 applications are similar enough, but if so, you can find a great write up on the brace install at:

Looking forward to the step by step as well. I did the brace on my car without pulling the rear cradle...never again, and will probably change the diff out in the future to something that I hope is much stronger. Good luck and please note any really difficult steps in the process.

Sure wish some enterprising soul had done this for a ProCharger install.

Great pics. I've assisted doing this on a lift a couple of times, hats off to you for doing it on jackstands!

You might need a tune to prevent an early 2nd gear rev limiter. Please see this thread and make sure your tuner knows (if you don't buy HP Tuners and do it yourself). I'm not sure how many tuners know about this:

Had the DTE stage 2 w/ 4.10 installed about a month ago. I've got a M6 Z51 and was hitting rev limiter early and had to do the fix mentioned above. Also when first driving after install upon turning there was a shaking but some figure 8's took care of it. I was told it's because the oil hasen't run through the rear and the clutch disk were dry. I also upgraded the clutch while I had everything apart. Have fun 4.10's on these cars are a real kick.
