IMHO it is easiest to pull the plastic fender well covers off. Turn the wheel to one side or the other to get easier access.

just did mine last week and I jacked one side up pretty high- I cut my bushings so car sits very low. There are two 7mm screws on the underside holding the front part of the plastic. Remove those and then push back and you will see tabs on the front end of the fender wheel that slide into the bumper. Once that is all out of the way reach your hand in there and twist. All done. 
Still cant understand why we just cant get nice clean looking bulbs from the factory.
