Default Question about Z51 brake rotors and calipers

I have the base brakes on my 06 coup.I was thinking of upgrading to the Z51 brakes. I know the rotors and brakets are differnt but are the calipers? Thanks in advance EDMGUY.

Fronts are the same, rears on the Z51 have (very) slightly smaller piston....I think it's 1 MM smaller, but I could be wrong.

If that true then I would have to replace the rears only?

You don't have to replace the rear calipers, they'll work fine with the Z51 rotors.

I installed the Z51 rotors and brackets on my car about 1000 miles ago and have had no problems at all. I even used my stock pads since they only had about 1200 miles on them.

its a 3mm difference, but like said above, you won't notice it. I've run both rears on my car with the Z51 rotors and couldn't tell. That being said, there has to be a reason GM went through the expense of a smaller piston.

You may want to get the rotors coated with zinc or something so the don't rust before you put them on. I hated the rust so bad I bought Baer 2 piece rotors. Look great and don't rust.
