Looks may be the advantage and hitting bottem is the counter-point.

Just took delivery of an '07 Z-51. Tried lowering the rear this weekend and did not have a lot of success. Got the car up on jackstands, removed the rear wheels and jacked up the rotor assembly to relieve tension on the adjustment bolt. Got the right side bolt to turn easily, but the left side would not budge and I was afraid to force the bolt. The bolts are to be turned counter clockwise, right?
So, since I could not adjust the LH side, I backed off the RH side to stock. Now my car is unchanged. Did I do anything wrong?
I really would like to drop the rear an inch. Thanks for your help.

Just reread my response again. I hijacked your thread and was of no help to you. Sorry.

Advantages; Looks, possible better aerodynamics on high speed race courses.

Diadvantages; New alignment needed, loss of suspension travel, possible damage to undercarriage, degraded handling if only one end lowered, accelerated tire wear.

Sig pic is lowered on stock hardware (no bushings cut or longer bolts). I need to raise the rear back up a scosh.

You need to place the car on jackstands and then put the jack under the leaf spring to release the tension. When you are jacking you should see the bushing rise of the air arm, when it raises you can turn the bushing by hand once there is not tension on it.
