Default Info on fast intake

Got a c-6, with an ati-procharger - thinking about putting a fast intake on it. Can someone help me in anticipating hp gain and problems installing it. Thanks.

While you will see some gains from it, I personally would not put a FAST intake on a forced induction car...the air is already being forced in in abundance, if ya need more power just add more boost via a pulley swap (or boost controller etc in the case of a turbo).

The car has more hp than it can handle with the blower... why waste $800. If you want to dyno race and have a pp measuring contest then pulley it. I don't mean any disrespect by that comment, I've done it myself as well. I got close to 700rwhp out of a 4.6l and a cetrifugal. But the car was faster with less power, I just wanted to impress my friends with big hp numbers.

I agree also...waste of $$$.

Spend the money on a Dewitts radiator, which you will definitely need to handle the additional thermal load imposed by the SC

Have'nt had any issues with mine but $800 won't put you close to what the cost actually is. With the ProCharger you also have to replace stock throttle body with a Trailblazer SS 90 mm TB, and the Lingenfelter firewall kit, so it gets pretty pricey.

Yeah, the cost is a bit much for HP, but cutting the firewall is another problem altogether. Not my car

I've done a handful with the fast, but they are definately NOT fun to cut the firewall on. I would definately recommend porting and LS2 over going to a fast until you're looking for that last 10 RWHP.

yup, save your money, just port the stock intake if don't want to run more boost, which i understand with 10.9 compression or spend the money on a bigger radiator, you will need it if you track the car.

It's been said if you're gonna get the fast, get it ported. Apparently, they leave some power on the table. In terms of flow and how it will affect your car with the Procharger, I can't answer that. The guys above seem to think it's not worth it; possibly detrimental, even.
