I went up there ill prepared to run the car but really wanted to run nonethelesss. I ran with just about a full tank and some equipment in the car. I was going to run on runflats, but the South Florida crew is great and one of the members (Rick) from the Corvette challenge came to my rescue. I ran some 17" ZR-1 wheels with Nitto 305/45/17 Drag radials. I experimented with the tire pressure all evening but around 23psi hot seemed to do the trick.
Ok, on to the good stuff:
First run, hit limiter on 1st, missed 2nd , missed 3rd. Very anxious

MPH.... 77.53
1000... 11.165
1/4..... 13.222

Screwed the launch, just focused on getting the car in gear

So throughout the night I drove the car faster and faster but couldn't quite figure out the launch. I had a blast, and that is the only thing that matters. With a real driver behind the wheel(like Joe G. who cut 1.70's for most of the evening) the car could potentially have a 11.60-11.80 pass @121ish mph in the right air. Whatever, it's a street car first. Anyway, scratching my head as what to do next as the blower will have to hold off for a while.

Glad you had a good time, Doug. See you again soon.

Here are a couple of posts that helped me a lot from Ranger:
Launch techniques. This is what I do:

I'll take you for a ride and show you. Then ride with Robert and he'll show you the real trick on how to do it, he's a lot better than me.
I had a huge problem missing gears with my C6 at first and was ready to buy a new shifter, but I found this thread and it helped a lot - I seldom miss gears anymore:

I'm also pretty careful to flush my clutch fluid every couple of weeks to keep it fresh. Knock on wood I haven't had any problems with either my C5 or my C6 using this technique. Here's some thoughts on that:

Bob said your kind words to him at the Challenge really meant a lot to him. Welcome to our gang!

Congrats on getting the car to the track.
These cars are not the easiest cars to get down the track with a manual tranny, especially after mods.
The 93.56 1/8 mph and 119.65 mph in the 1/4 are good signs.
I am sure with a conservative 1.88 launch on DRs you would have run 11.8s@120+.
Now you can imagine the frustration I am having trying to run a decent time with 370rwhp on runflats
Now you know why I am considering a STOCK A6 trannied C6 that runs 12.3-12.4s@113+ with 1.88 60's on runflats
Your car is making the power, that is for sure.
Getting it to the ground is the problem.
Great job your first time out with a powerful car.

Joe-I've always been a big proponent of making more power, simply meaning...If you have to shift fast to win a race you aren't making enough power! All funny till you get out at the track and "slower" cars are blowing your doors off. I never, never, never bang gears in my car. I guess that is why I was having a problem at the track. I just need to work on shifting more quickly.
Yell03-I've been follwing all your threads but haven't chimed in. I wish you lived down here. It would be so much easier to help you. It's all in the tune, just ask Joe G.

Doug, if I was you I'd focus on the launch. You can granny shift that thing to a 11.6 time if you get a 1.7 60. Plus, if you notice it's not the guys that know how to launch on DR or ET's leaving their rear ends at the line. It's the guys on street tires who pop the clutch instead of "walking it out" and hooking up before going full throttle. And there's usually wheel hop involved. IMHO best way to save your equipment is learn how to properly launch. I'm also a fan of the DTE brace. Pretty inexpensive for a little peace of mind.
Just ask Craig what a little launch practice can do for you! He dropped .5 this year so far with no mods.
And Yell03, he's not kidding about the tune. Doug has really opened my eyes to the power of the HP Tuners cable. There is no way your car should slow down with headers. One thing to keep in mind, it was pretty fast to start with so you set a high bar! You might consider investing in a HP Tuners cable and logging your runs and take them to your tuner. My bet is he'll find the problem pretty quickly. Just be careful you don't buy it and fall into the abyss and start perusing the HP Tuners forum for hours on end at the expense of your family! It's tempting, I'll tell you.....
