The most popular mods seem to be: CAI, longtubes, catback, and a tune. I have seen the dyno charts, but can someone tell me what these mods gain in 0-60, quarter mile times? Thanks, EagleEye

Longtubes and the tune are the main factors in the gains, everyone has different #'s , but overall, expect about 30-50RWHPwith all that inc. a GOOD tune. So, for the 1/4 and 0-60, alot of it is up to the driver. At 50rwhp gain, take about .2 -.4 off your 1/4 time, thats if you duplicate the launch, conditions, etc. I'm sure there will be alot of variations here, and thats cool, but in all honesty, some guys are getting better times stock in the 1/4 and 0-60 than the guys who've spent $3k on bolt ons.(SCs NOT included in that statement )Racing and time trials are as much or more the driver than the car.Learn the car, launch techniques, how it reacts to cold/heat,track conditions, etc.The CAIs seem to give little back for the $$, as well as the cat back, but at least the sound is improved for the $$.
I think he's asking what would be the 0-60 gain when HE drives his modded car. To compare the performance improvement, we should fix a driver to the same person, IMO. If an average driver can cut 4.5 sec for 0-60, what would he do after 50 rwhp gain?
In my experience, the faster you go, the harder it is to get faster. If your car stock is 4.5 0-60, it may take 75hp to get it to 4.0, but then another 100hp to 3.9-3.8. I cut a 4.0 in my bone stock (except for k&n filters) c6 Z51 using a comp g meter I borrowed from a friend.Accurate or not, to shave that to sub-4 sec, it takes more then just HP, because you're likely to fishtail or spin with more hp. If he wants to cut time on the street/strip and doesn't drive in the rain, get a good pair of drag radials and run low psi.Two of those bolt ons he listed show great improvement on HP,the headers and a tune, two do not, cai and cat back, together, all four may cut .2-.4 off a 1/4 mile or drop a 4.5 0-60 to 4.3. The tires alone could do that.

If the "avg" driver cuts a 4.5 0-60 in a 400 hp car that should do 4.1 or better 0-60, then with 50 extra horses, he should do about 6.8 0-60 , because he probally will try to kill it and turn it sideways or forget to take off TC or something else.An experienced driver with 50 extra hp may cut a tenth or two off a 0-60

That's interesting point and I agree in some sense (not 4.5 becomes 6.8 ). I sometimes feel my Z51 tries to sideways when I step on it hard.
Unless you taped it to the top of a supercharger I kinda doubt it, if not, then you have the best cai in the world....or you learned to drive your car.
oohh...wait a sec..there's other mods on your car...right...almost had me...

nope the only mod was a 160 stat cartek fan switch and a generic tune to get rid of TM. and the best was 12.91 . then i put the vr on around Xmas with spacer, went to track when it first opened in the spring 12.38, its all documented on the forum. went 11.98 on stock run flats. now with drag radials 11.73 so far . of course that's with headers highflow cats and tune converter stock gears basic bolt ons. try it you might be surprised

Great times, but I'm not heading that route. I'm gonna go with headers through stock exhaust,160 stat, tune, and a nice streetable cam. If I get crazy, gonna do the L92 heads and L76 intake w/tb and have about 500bhp.Good solid torque and hp curve all through the rpm range.Smooth out a/f ratio and have a great drivable machine, not saying yours isn't different route, same destination. If I track it, I'll probally do limited 1/4 mile but try to do the road tracks more. I've done the 1/4 to death in my TA, ran 11.43 @121 on Goodyear GSD3's(street tires).Always wanted to try slicks, though...lol. If you're pulling in those #'s on a c6 with minimal mods, you're the first I've heard of.You mention converter, so you have an A4? I've heard there isn't a converter yet for the A6.It'd be nice to have about 500-800 over base stall for that tranny...puts it right in there
