X-pipe issue

X-pipe issue
I ordered a B+B x-pipe w/ highflow cats a month and a half ago. When I ordered it I asked if it replaced the stock cats. I was told it did. When I received the X pipe this weekend I noticed that it doesn't replace the stock cats. In fact, it bols up right behind them...giving me 4 cats if I just bolt it up.
So my question is: Do I have a shop cut out the stock cats and weld in straight pipe so that I only have one set of cats when I install the high flow cats or do I buy a set of headers instead?
I'd prefer to have a shop simply cut out the stock cats but I am not sure how moving the cats father down the exhaust system would effect power.
I also thought about gutting the stock cats but I think this would create a disturbance in air flow.
Any thoughts/opinions??
