The search feature is your friend. This is probably the most already discussed topic in the C6 sections.

The Zoomers exhaust is a slick set-up I have it on my C6 A6 and it's not much louder than stock while crusing but at WOT and idle there's a noticable difference. Deep deep idle and no sustaining drone inside the cabin.. Do a search "Zoomers" a lot of positive reviews....

Route 66 is quiet. You're not going to get much hp increase with exhaust only (maybe 5 hp). If you add headers (15 hp) it's not going to be quiet anymore.

I also have Zoomers on my A6 with the quad tips. Looks awesome and is perfect for a daily driver. Not too loud or obnoxious like some out there. Just a nice refined sound with a deep and throaty idle. As far as HP and TQ gains the Zoomers has some pretty impressive numbers on the dyno:

I'm having Melrose headers installed (w/ hi flo cats) mated to the stock exhaust. This will give added HP w/ a slightly deeper sound, but not loud. Much better bang for the $ IMO than catback system w/ little or no HP gain.

I saw a car where the guy had headers with stock exhaust. He'd taken off the corsa since it was too loud. He cut the tips off the stock system, had them chromed and welded them back. Looked nice.

I've got the Borla Touring. I'm pretty much happy with it. The 2 exceptions, and they are small ones, are a few booming type back fires or burbbles with a trailing throttle and some resonance at about 1500 rpms. The latter is easy to avoid with a 6 sp. Bill

Default Power over drone tone anytime!

....Thats the same way I went, the Mels and stock muffs. A little deeper tone and a heathy torque increase. I guess we rather be stealthy and powerful instead of LOUD and SLOWER!

That zoomers is a full catback, but how much does it cost?? Sounds fairly close to a clip I just heard of the Rte66. The C6 doesn't seem to need the x-pipe nearly as bad as the C5, with that ugly burbling.

My last question if which system has less drone inside: zoomers or Rte 66. My ex-'03 had the Rte66, and the resonance was driving me nuts, especially with the A4 (no way to avoid it). Thanks gang.

I have GHL Classic Muscle Exhaust specially designed for the A6 and I love them great sound when you get on them and not to load when you are not. Plus great looks with no brand stamped in them.

I've never heard Rte 66 but I can tell you my last Vette C5 I had Borla and the drone was pretty bad. The Zoomers are much better in the drone respect in fact they really only have a slight drone under light acceleration when in 6th gear. I would expect they'd have none with an M6. Ron from Zoomers called me yesterday and said they have a set they used for testing which is a first production run dual tip unit they have for sale. I'm going to spread the word down at the donut shop here in O.C. at the end of the month ,there is a little meet and greet there for us Vette freaks every month. Give him a call 949-916-3240 ask for Ron...$999.00 like new. Reg. Price $1299.00
