Default New best times

Went to track rental with Cartek yesterday at Atco raceway. Times are not great considering the mods I have.....but I was on street tires. New rims and drag radials/slicks are in the near future with a few other mods to get me into the 10's
60' - 1.718
1/8 - 7.82
1/4 - 11.995
MPH - 118.72
This was with wheelhop and spinning tires. The car runs hard....I just need to get it to the ground.
Thanks to Dave and the guys at Cartek for helping me out

Good job on the driving Rob, you were definitely spinning on the launch and with every shift plus we didn't even remotely see the type of air that we normally do this time of year (62 degrees on December 14th? LOL) so there is obviously PLENTY more left in that beast.

Wow that is a smoking 60' on street tires... is your car an automatic? That must be a record.

It took me 2 years to be able to eke out a 1.7 with drag radials! No way I could do it with my street tires. Nice going.

Cool. Care to share your technique? I have best luck "walking" out the clutch from 3500 or so as posted by Ranger many times. A fast, but not too fast, release of the clutch and wait to go full throttle until the tires hook up.

That about sums it up...launch 3k-4k and feather the clutch until its moving good. I even feathered the clutch...just a little on the 1-2 shift....then hit 3rd fairly hard and then ripped it into fourth as quick as possible...a little gear grinding noise?? as i was "slamming it??

Great runs and two phenomenal 60' times. Were your tires run flats? Those times are fantastic. I'm sure with better air you will go deeper into the 11's.
Good Luck

Nice 60' time that 1.71.
You're losing time down the track AFTER the 60' mark obviously.
What RPMwere you shifting at?
I thought I had heard Atco was closed???

Nice Run!!!

Awesome 60' time.

Launching and getting a Manual Tranny car down the track fast is no easy feat.

How bad is that wheel hop for that chatter problem in the rear of 06 6spd?

Well, I've seen similar Cartek heads and cam Corvettes cutting low to mid 1.4 sixty foots so depending on one's perspective, there was still some precious time lost on the launch (on the sixty foots) as well.
Of course a 1.71 isn't bad at all but with some Mickey Thompsons and a Cartek clutch this thing would've likely been cutting 1.5s/1.4s (a possible 11.6/11.5 right there?) and shaving off some more tenths with better traction on each shift as well.
