My buddy who's an experienced tuner told me that while good tuners richen up the PE table for the Vararam compared to optimum fueling on the dyno, in his experience you can often use a bit more fuel on the track at the upper rpms. It worked for me! .2 and 2 mph from logging and tweaking in the same night.
Hey thanks for the information
Hopefully, we will get some time to just run around town so that I can see if both drop the IAT temps approximately the same amount. Both cars will have about one hundred miles since the install by the end of this week. Hopefully they both have re-learned.
I am will be very interested to see:
how much the IAT drops from ambient temperature on each car
how lean each car is running as compared to stock
If I can see the "ram air effect" of the vararam.
Then we will install a xpipe on Joeys car and do it all over again.
I have to set up the histograms on the stock runs......... but you can really see the heat soak problem
That being said, the whole install took me about 4 hours. Here's an old thread from when I did it about a year-and-a-half ago. For some reason the pictures are missing in the first post, but the second post has some pictures of the last part of the installation.
