Based on researching the thread, it appears that the dreaded DBS is only a problem in '05s. Is that correct? Thanks
That is correct. DBS requires that the car have the 'shut down in reverse' requirement, so it only pertains to '05 MN6.
Other models or trannies with dead batteries just have a different dead battery problem.
With the newly released BCM reflash there is some upgrade concerning some '06's, but that's separate from DBS.
I have a 2007 and just today went to use my car and it was dead as a doornail. I have a battery buddy or whatever so i was able to pop the hood and push the button on it to give me enough to start it and then it was fine all day. I hope i dont have DBS in my 2007 but its not looking good.

How long had the car sat since it was shut down? were any lights left on etc?
If you ad the DBS problem that was focused on the 2005 vehicles with manual transmission then it would have gone dead in aproximately 48 hours since you shut it down. Either way glad you were able to get it started. Merry Christmas
