Default Advise on Amplifier

I recently purchased a JL Audio Stealthbox for my 99 FRC and was hoping some of you could give me some advise on a good amp for it. I do not have any experience with the modern day stereo equipment. I am hoping to mount the amp in one of the pockets in the side of the trunk so the size of the amp is going to matter. I am not after the boom box type sound but rather just a bit of thump and music I can feel. Can anyone direct me?

I have the JL Audio stealthbox and married it to a JL audio 250.1 amp. It provides the deep color down low without being harsh or too thumpy. Really fills out the sound of the music.

Might try posting in audio, but I agree, the JL 250/1 should fit the bill nicely. Don't bother getting the biggest amp out there, that 250 watts will do fine. However, if you are inclined to get more power, you can upgrade to a 500/1 if you choose, though, and once nice benefit is you can get a remote **** for the 500/1.

jl audio makes there amps for there speakers. you want the best setup for your sub go this route. youwant power go 500/1 turned down. but a 250/1 is the correct setup. more power = more clarity but in a sub that really don't matter. runnign a 250/1 on my 8w7 and it handles way more power then the stealth box will. this is one of 3 cars i am running jl in...cant be beat

FWIW, I am running my front stage with the JL 300.2 amp in addition to the sub at 250.1. I like the results.

That's exactly what I've got. I actually picked up a 500/1 to change the 250 solely b/c of the remote boost ****, but lately I'm so happy with the 250's performance and balance, I'm not even sure I'm going to bother upgrading.

250/1 running a pair of 8w3v3's

300/2 running a pair of XR650csi's

Well, we either have excellent or poor taste together.

I am very happy with the way the JL amps sound. I have dynaudio mod 240 mk ii 2 channel front speaker system in the doors. Disconnected the stock center and rear speakers. It should have come from the factory this way.

I never bothered disconnecting the center; I figure it can't be heard above the JL's anyway. The rears are gone; the subs in their place. The system does sound pretty sweet!

I am calling that a unanimous answer. The JL Audio 250/1 is what I will go with. Thanks Guys!
