Default Tires need traction

I have C6 A4 with 3.15s ,, everything else is stock to my knowlege. It was around 55 degrees last night and I , thought lets give her a blast down the on ramp,,, well things were really spooling up nicely when the car shifted to 2nd gear , the tires broke loose at some where around 60 mph and the rear end jumped a little side ways. I assume the run flats are the cause since thats what everyone says. What are the best tires for cool weather traction,, and for a quiet ride. I'm willing to do the non runflats. Thanks fellas,,, by the way my wife about lost her margarita's when the car jumped sideways. Man this thing has some power,, either that or the runfats suck.

I have got use to the back end trying past the front. It's kinda fun sometimes. I have the problem with it in 3rd. If you know it is going to happen you are always ready for it.
Sorry, can't help you with the tire thing. I will check back to see what other people say.

I believe that cold temps will give you more power and less grip.
I myself drive with this in mind realizing tires will always be the weak link here. Purchasing new tires IMO is a waste of money.

The goodyear EMT's do not perform well when cold. Once hot, they do well.

Watch your air pressure gauge before you go WOT. Start with air pressure at 32 cold. When you have hit 35 hot, your ready to go.

I am switching to Michellin PS2 next month and keeping my stocks for the occasional track event.

Folks I know swear by the PS2.

Good advice to check the pressure. Get the runflats warmed up and they are not too bad really.

Default Ok thanks

Smokey tire burnouts here we come I will say with warmer temps it doesn't do this as much ,, I figure 55 degrees would be warm enough but I guess not,, I guess I haven't driven it hard enough to get to know it ,, its kind of hard to do around here with all the barney's and leo's trying to catch you, I guess I see all these posts about cams/ headers/ catbacks/ superchargers and so forth and think,,, How in the Heck could a person flog one of these things without ending up in a ditch or something,, I guess the guys in florida and california have a easier time with the warmer temps. we have about 5 or 6 months that are warm above 65,, other than that its fairly chilly.. If anyone from the colder climates has any opinions on tires,, I will be needing a new set in the next year. I have heard good things about the PS2's as well
