Whats the best technique for launching a Mn6 on the street without inducing wheel hop or fear of blowing the rear ? ( standing start, rolling start, rpm's etc etc.) Your thoughts please. Thanks.
On the street? I always take off normally - clutch out at idle or close thereto. If I want to get on it I do it when I'm rolling and clutch is fully out. But I don't play much on the street. I'll never do a clutch drop or even hard takeoff on runflats. They wheel hop way too easily. IMHO if you rev it and dump the clutch on the street you will likely find yourself toting your rear end on the back of a flat bed soon. Do a search for threads on busted rear ends, it is pretty common on the C6.
Heck look here - one from today linked to the one from last week.
Track is another story. I run ET Streets or Drag Radials. I "walk the clutch" at 3500-3900. Relatively quick release, never dump it. I slowly depress the gas while I'm letting it out to maintain revs, then nail it after clutch is out and it has hooked. Ranger has posted instructions on this, his threads and watching some old track hands do it taught me how. My best 60 was 1.6 in my H/C C5 and is 1.70 in my C6 and 1.7's and low 1.8's are my norm these days. I've had a DTE brace on both of my Vettes.
Thanks Joe, I guess now my next question is, what would be the best tire and size in a non runflat for less wheel hop and better grip for street driving with 4:10's ?

Several of my C5 buddies run Nitto 555 RII's on the street or M/T drag radials. I saw a set of 18" Nitto Drag Radials yesterday that looked pretty tall. These will give you traction but you will have active handling issues if you don't keep the proper front/rear size ratio. I run 275/40/17 and 305/35/18 (I think) 555RII's for track use and have no issues. I would be very apprehensive daily driving these if it rains where you live. My buddies don't daily drive their cars.
Regarding street tires, I can't say, others will likely chime in.
Truth is I don't really have traction issues on the street with my stock Supercar EMT's. Sure they will spin a little but I find with gears they spin less than with the 342's. They tend to spin a little then grab and go. They are a ton better than the C5 EMT's. But as I said I don't street race, just a little spirited driving once in a while.

well you can start by replacing your soft rubber control arm and diff/trans bushings for poly, that usually all you need to tame wheel hop, and that goes for any rear gear ratio

BF GOODRICH KDW 2's and have 4.10's. Amazing traction and no wheelhop. On the street I rev mine to 2000 rpm feather the clutch and punch it, a little practice.

Unless you're racing someone which is a , there's no reason to launch. There's no time or oponent to beat so you can take your time and enjoy the power whenever you want. Of course if you wanted to practice your launch technique on an empty backroad somewhere well...
I am running 4.10s with 425RWHP. Along with this, I added Nitto R2s (305 rear) and Bilstein shocks. No more wheelhop and the tires hold the power thru first.
I just let the clutch in right off idle and roll onto the gas. The car is a rocket.
