Default 2007 Exhaust different????

I just got off the phone with a rep from Bassani, who told me something was different on the 2007 year model c6's that prohibited the use of their 60c6-5 exhaust system.

I am just curious what the difference is. He said their R&D dept has verified it and they are working on a new kit.

The rear clamps are different and the O2 sensors have been moved - to where I do not know.

I saw this thread, so I called Ron at Zoomers exhaust to verify if my Zoomers kit on my 07 is different than the 05 or 06. We'll I'm glad to say one kit fits all... Zoomers are the real deal! Check em out. Do a search "Zoomers" Some good reviews

I don't believe any of the other manufacturers are doing '07 specific kits... And I know an '06 Corsa Sport kit fit just fine on my '07.

true. I bet you got the axle back only kit though. The bassani is a true cat back all the way from the front of the car, so I can see how relocation of the 02's could effect their system. I did a quick search and most of the manufacturer's website's only list 05-06 models.

True, but given I replaced the headers at the same time and I have the stock parts in front of me I don't think it makes a difference. From look at the Bassani Kit functionally it picks up where the X-pipe normally would. This is still after the post-cat 02 sensors which stock are almost immediately after the cats in the cast iron pieces.

I sent them an email for further clarification. Perhaps the o2's were moved further back, thereby lengthing the catted section??? I dunno......will let you know what they say.

I am closing the install of my Melrose headers, Random HiFlow Cats, and X-Pipe on my 07 M6. 2 issues I noticed

1. The expanded ends of the X-Pipe won't seal on the "over axle" muffler pipe. I had to put 2 slits in the X-Pipe so it would collapse enough to seal on the muffler pipe. Maybe this is normal for all years.

2. Strange and maybe I am an idiot but my oil dipstick mount would not clear the headers mounting flange. I had to grind about 1/4" off the dipstick mounting tab to get it to clear. Not a big deal...I just thought it was unusual.

Other than that all seemed to fit well.

I have the Borla Stinger full catback system on my '07 M6. There are no 02 sensors to relocate. The exhaust system starts at the X-pipe.

Re: #2 That just sounds like poor engineering. I've seen the Kooks, the ARH and the LGs and none of them required any modifications.

Re: #1 Never heard of this either. My LGs and Corsa slid together quite well

#1 - Was this keeping the stock mufflers? Is your X-pipe 3" tubing? I imagine the X-pipe should be fit inside the over axle pipe. I wonder if you don't need a 3-2 1/2 reducer in there?

Bassani left me a message late yesterday evening and said everything should bolt up fine So I guess I will be ordering my kit today. It looks like not too many people are running bassani.

i installed my corsa sports today on the 07 a6. everything bolted up very easily and installation was not that hard. took about 3 hours only using a jack, 1 jack stand, and 2 ramps. i never had to remove an extra bolt and bend a piece of the heatshield like some say they needed to do in order to remove the old exhaust. the passenger side came out with, just needed to be moved around more than the driver side.

The 02 sensors are located on the exhaust manifold and on the downpipe after the cat. So I think all catback system would be ok.
