Default Melrose & Honker

After reading many posts on this forum about headers & CAI, I decided to go with the Melrose Headers, and Calloway Honker CAI. I had a local Corvette shop do the installs, very please with the quality, product, service and price. The Melrose look great, sound is just what I wanted, a little deeper, about 10% louder, running through the stock exhaust. I can actually feel a bit of rumble in the car, feels great. Even my wife liked them. There seems to be a small bit of resonance around the 1500 -1600 rpm range, but not bad. In addition to the honker, I can feel the improved torque right away. So far no error codes after 100 miles with the high flow cats. I am now debating about getting a tune, don't know if it would benefit that much?

Anyway, I do appreciate all the info I have picked up from reading other members posts, it's all good stuff. Overall very pleased with these mods.

I just finished my Melrose headers install. I am very happy with it. I am waiting to do more mods before i do a tune. I also have no codes. I run high flow cats. The smell is acceptable but i do wonder if it is still rich. Curious to see what others think.

My MR headers have been on about a month now. Everything was cool for the first 3 wks...then the famous CEL came on. Code 0420 (cats). Factory is sending a new wiring harness which should be installed next wk. Hope this works...if not, I will have to get a tune. I do love the sound and the little extra SOTP.

My Mesrose coated LT's with Xpipe and Magnaflows have been on over a year with zero issues. They look just like the day they were installed. I highly recommend a tune as you will see a significant difference in response and feel. Also if an auto get the trans computer bumped up some too all while on the dyno. Not sure do they tune an A6 as mine is an A4.

I have same set-up plus tune and Honker, I love it. No problems after 11k miles. Got many compliments. Next is head and cam.

The tune will get the best out of the combination for you and prevent CEL problems, etc.
I really like my Melrose headers and GHLs!

Default yep more power

I'm debating the head/com or Procharger? Price wise the head/cam is about 4K cheaper bpught/installed/tuned but just not sure of the overall performane and don't like opening up my engine when nothing is wrong nor has there been. Tough decision. I saw the twin turbo set up but I don't really like that nor the sound at least the one I saw in here that was a vid from HP TV. I'm out of the loop several weeks anyway due to back surgery so lots of time for R&D.

Anyone running this combo or the Melrose headers happen to have dyno numbers?
