Default Exhaust question

Would removing mufflers and going with straight through sound good, or will it get a very bad drone?

I've done just this but it is snowing and I cannot get clips for you. I took off the mufflers and welded piping into it's place. I have an 07 A6 coupe....IMHO it's not too loud at all. It has a very nice growl at start up and fairly tame at cruising speeds. There is some gurgle and pop on decceleration but not anymore than what I'd expect from any other cat back. I might not know what drone is, but there is little if any. I do NOT get a headache from driving my car....if that helps. The whole thing cost me $80 and took about an hour. You might try it before spending the cash on a cat back.

I did the same thing to my 06 MN6 coupe. Here is the video. I traded this for my 07 A6 because the color was a pain in the butt to take care of every day. Victory Red is so much easier the keep clean. To this day I've gotten no tickets or anything for not running mufflers for all you skeptics out there. Any questions feel free to pm me!

i had mine off my m6 for a while & I loved it. It was loud but not to loud. But it leaves the azz end lookin nakid.
I bought a set of GM off road and installed them yesterday. It sounded better w/ open pipes but i'll be adding headers and high flow cats so i'll get my sound back

This is about a close to straight exhaust as you need to get.

We do this mod....sounds great & the cats muffle it enough so no drone. Easy to do & cheap.
