OK, I just got a great ported FAST Intake from Ron and it appears allot better the the stock LS2, just the runners size and space inside make it seem like it can flow alot more air then the LS2 intake (even ported). I can't wait to install it so I wanted some advice on how to install myself. I have the Firewall and Fuel rail kit to make it easier. Any advice or pictures of the install would be great. I mainly worried about the firewall modification.
I just ran through the instructions that you posted, but didn't see anything pertaining to the firewall modification, perhaps due to the fact that they used a GTO as the guinea pig. Are there separate instructions for the firewall mod available?
thanks.
I posted a thread a couple of days ago, bu no one posted any instructions or pictures. You do not see any pictures of the firewall mod on Cory's website, becasue those are instructions for the LS2 ported manifold swap, and not a FAST.
I've installed 2... You will see a screw/bolt on the firewall directly behind where the intake was... ( connects to the windshield wiper bracket). This bracket runs vertically and is a pia to cut. Center the patch using that bolt as a centering reference. You may want to place the fast where it will go and mark accordingly... Place the platic piece up and cut some.. repeat until it fits flush.. Be careful not to cut too much....
Be sure to tape of your oil pressure censor and the intake ports on the heads with masking tape so you won't get dust/metal in the motor.
It took me about 6 hours the first time and about 5 hours the second time... The hardest part is cutting the firewall /placing the patch.. That takes half the overall install time..
I'm slow, so I'm sure other guys could do it much faster. I just took my time drank a few beers
