What is about the biggest "stealth" cam for the c6? I was wanting something that put out some good hp, but I didn't want a LOT of rumble. A little noticable at idle would be perfect, but also keeping stock heads on here. I have heard no bigger than .600/.600 lift, but how stealthy is that? Thanks for the input guys

My cam is the Thunder Racing Cheatr cam
215/232 117lsa .600 .578
i also just installed the thunder racing cheatr cam along with afr heads and longtubes. the idle quality is great and it pulls hard all through the power band because of the wide lobe seperation. have not had it tuned or dynoed yet.
I'm running the stock catback... The 421-423.5rwhp was: cam, AFR heads, and Longtubes.. I added the FAST, tuning and a ported TB and I bumped up to 446ish...
I'm now planning an UD pulley, catback and maybe an EWP / Hoping for 465+...
The cam by itself won't give you that much... Maybe 15-20RWHP by itself... However, it is a great foundation for other mods and you will get more out of the setup when you add heads/intake ect..
Keep in mind that the area under the curve is the most important thing. I've seen guys with more "peak" power trap 2-3 mph less at the track.
xstang...did you make 420 at the wheels with just the cam, or with heads as well? Reason Im asking is because I would like to skip heads and just do cam and headers, for the time being. As long as this cam would work fine on stock heads

I don't have any cam only numbers.. The heads and cam were put on first ... (even before the headers)... Keep in mind, they all work together, so gains may be different if you don't do the heads. A 450 cars with heads and cam, will usually be faster than the same rwhp without heads.. Once the car is moving, much more air is moving than what the car will see sitting on a dyno...
Stock 344
Honker 356
Heads Cam 392
Headers 421
FAST TB and Tuning 446
Next coming very soon:
Catback ?
Ported Fast ?
UD pulley ?
I should end up with 465-470rwhp with a ton under the curve.. People push cam only cars making the same peak power, but my car would most likey crush them down low (below 4k rpms)... Don't get caught up in dyno numbers though... Look at trap speeds on cars to see how they are really performing... I've seen guys with 450rwhp, barely trap 120rwhp... I did 123.5 with 423rwhp...
It's all about the combo baby. My old mustang had kind of an old school set-up a few years back but was able to hold its own (at least mph wise) with cars that had better heads or bigger cams. My stuff was older but it worked well together.
The cam may not be the biggest and the peak HP not super either, not what I'd expect from a typical H/C setup, but those traps are wicked! I was trapping 123 with my Procharged C5 that had ~100 more RWHP than you.
My car (according to the previous owner) dynoed 401 HP but the cam is certainly NOT stealthy by any means.
