Default Z06 Catback on "Base" C6

well the title I think is pretty self explanatory but what I wanted to know is will a cat-back system designed for the C6 Z06 bolt onto a "regular" C6. More specifically the Z06 Borla exhaust...I love the look of the dual intercooled rolled tips, but I don't want to go and buy a ~$1300 exhaust and it doesn't fit. Has anyone done this? Thanks!

Many people have done this. If you search for a while you'll find several threads discussing it. Your base C6 exhaust piping is 2.5". The Z06 catback systems are 3". All you need is for a muffler shop to make an adapter from 2.5" - 3" to make the connection. Simple.

Can the mild-to-wild thing be used still?

We just installed the Z06 Borla on an 07 C6. We also put on American Racing 1 7/8 stainless steel headers and X-pipe. All you have to do is order the connection pipes for a ZO6 which will be 3in and it will bolt right up.

Yes - check this thread for part numbers. There is a dude that was at the last Challenge with this done. Open it was about like my Magnaflows, maybe just a little louder (we started them next to each other, I have headers and he didn't), not nearly as loud as your stingers and not as good a tone as yours or mine. Closed it was very quiet like stock. The guy said he can't stand driving with it open on the highway, the drone drives him crazy.

p.s. Robert, Steve and I bought Qtec cutouts today, we're getting the GTOpsi cutout mod.

We'll work on our avatars next! :lol
