Default C6 A4 getting TR T-rex cam

A friend of mine is putting in his T rex cam today and I just hope everything goes smooth. He has an A4 and does not have an aftermarket stall and won't be able to get it tuned right away. I think this spells disaster but I guess we will find out tomorrow. I am intersted in what his numbers will be when tuned. His son's SS Camaro makes 403 RWHP on a mustang dyno (dyno operator figured to be 456 on a dynojet ) with this cam along with L/T headers, NW 90/FAST 90, and cutouts through 4.10s. His C6 currently has LG pros and a vararam.

I know not too many Vettes run this cam (I searched and searched) so I figure that this may be some useful info. Once he gets it tuned I will post numbers and try and snap a pic of the chart to post up

I know the boys love the Trex for their LS1's but it will be interesting to see the results of this. Expecially without a tune.

That will be one brake pushing fool with the stock stall! My little 224/228 pushed at it on a 700rpm idle, annoying, but not terrible. He better get used to shifting into neutral at stop lights! Should make good power though.

Stall won't be far behind .

Do you know if they will have to flycut the pistons? Stock heads right?

I would like that cam after I'm done with my sleeper setup (-:

Boy I hope not, it should fire up today and I guess I'll let you know He still is running stock heads and I don't think Thunder Racing mentioned flycutting. His son is on stock LS1 heads and he didn't flycut. That Camaro has some power, he pulled on me the whole way but I wonder what it would be like without gears (or me with ).

Well, no flycutting. Lotsa valvetrain noise, that has me worried. Car is running LG longtubes and he didn't hook the mufflers back up. Needless to say at idle it is loud and at WOT it literally is deafening. Idles very rough, has to put it in nuetral at stoplights.

It should be tuned this week, I am curious to see the numbers.

Yeah, me too

They are being very hush hush about it. I am kind of upset that they won't share the results but now I am skeptical of their numbers anyway. The Camaro they had tuned put down 403 on the mustang which they calculated to be 456 on a dynojet (not sure how they got that number). I saw that dynochart so I can verify the 403 but I don't know if it was corrected or not. The C6 supposedly put down 450 but I really find that hard to believe, well, at least without seeing it. The Camaro we ran on teh Gtech RR Sunday and the one run it made before breaking the posi was a 12.040 @ 122.xx, granted the 60' sucked but mine runs 12.4s at 116-119 (same crappy 60') with 390ish RWHP (dynojet) and without the 4.10s. I know they are not completely accurate but to me something is WAY off.

I'll keep you posted, he conveniently forgot his chart this weekend so I guess I'll wait until next and see what happens.
