I've been researching, reading about, listening to and trying to find a new exhaust system for my otherwise stock 06/Z51/C6. My question is this - my wrench recommended the Callaway double D system, does anyone out there have this? For whatever reason, I can't seem to find much about it (other than the Callaway web site). Seems like most everyone uses the Corsa, B&B and Borla setups. Is the double D just too expensive? Would be nice if there was a link to a sound clip. Thanks in advance.
I've seen and heard the Callaway system on two C6's. It sounded very nice. Both owners said there was no resonance or drone. I had a Callaway system on my first ZR1. It was well made and I liked the look (twin double-D outlets).
I have a Callaway Honker air box on my C6 that I'm very pleased with. If you like the look of the Callaway exhaust I'd go for it.
I had a chance to drive the Calliway 560 at there place in Ct.
It of course had their system on it. No drone as I was checking for that. System sounded nice, a little quieter that corsa Sports.
It looks a bit strange. (my opinion), but its very well made.
I have LG Long tubes, x-pipe, no cats, and Callaway Double D. It has no drone at any rpm and I thank it looks cool. It has more of a lower bass type of sound as apposed to a raspy/screaming sound. I was running my system above with the stock mufflers for a while, until I got the Callaway. Its just not a whole lot louder than the stockers. Friend has Kooks long tubes, x-pipe, no cats and Corsa. His car is a lot louder than mine, and sounds completely different.I would suggest getting it if you have Lts and x-pipe. If you are just replacing your cat back don't get it. That is unless you want tno drone you like the looks and its a tad louder. If you have any questions call me. I'll send you a pm. I can walk outside and gice this thing some revs ffor you seriously. Maybe I can help you to make a decsion. I have some pics I will try and post later of the exhaust. Thanks Jeff
