I always went 1, 2, 3. Just felt better to me. It seemed like 1 to 2 was to quick shifting. After that i just went to 3rd because the rest shifted at the right time.

it worked good with my c5 but the 05 c6 a4 hits the limiter you can shift wide open throttle 1-2-3 at 5 - 6 thousand rpm and hits the limiter so why shift some times it will shift if i shift at 3000
A nice mod test now would be to put in 3.42's or 3.73 gears/converter and run it with no other change.
gears alone could take you down .5 or better, if traction is good. Just from experience with a 4l60e tranny (older A4) I wouldn't go 1,2,3 too much...solenoids burn out fast, then the bands...3 isn't bad at all for the track, gears should coincide with the tranny being at peak rpm in 3 as you cross the line.
Rt .200
60 2.00
330 5.63
1/8 8.54 @ 85.15
1/4 13.06 @ 109.26 MPH
I tested with Traction control off on "D"
Anyone tried 3 gear?
or shifting up 1,2,3?
Just wondering if I would be faster with 3 gear Traction off or competition mode.
Slap a Vararam w/spacer on there and try again should put you in 12.6xx or better, I beat a friends 12.5xx car multiple times from any speed w/your same set-up including Vararam though, before I switched to 3.42's... Now he is a dot in rearview mirror

We have the newer 4L65 (I read about it, it's built stronger in all areas also to handle the extra HP & Torque) in C6, I drive around contiuously upshifting 1-2-3 or 1-2 and then back down again 3-2-1 w/Bullet cat-back it's a blast! Crackle burble on deceleratiom downshifts is just retarded fun
Been doing this for a year now tranny is perfect just went in for a dealership check-up (full warranty everything is top notch!)

I actually had a "built" 4l65e (by Rossler Transmissions) swapped into my 2000 ta , but didn't get to run it before some IDIOT rear-ended me at 45mph. It felt good the month or so I had it.
Can you also explain the above numbers? For example
60 2.00??? What does this mean ?
60= 1st 60 foot time, very important in 1/4 as your total eta depends a great deal on how low you can get this time, (It's your launch time, how well you hook) 2.00 is pretty bad, 1.7x is better and if he worked on his launches and played w/psi in his rear tires (lower to about 25-27 psi ea.) bet he'd get a 12.8x @110 or better w/out any aditional mods, better stickier non-runflats would help a lot!
RT.200 is his reaction time to lights, also could be better, but this guy guy did remarkably well 1st time out w/crappy 2.73 gears from factory, very well done!
I could be wrong on the 330, I believe it's 330 feet, close to what 0-60 would be
Edit: what psi wer ein your rears? fronts?

That's a good time. My best run in my A4 2.73 was 12.96 bone stock. Since that time I've added a honker, 3.42 RE, and had updated dyno and tranny SW work. Looking forward to running it again when our track opens up next month.
