Default Magnetic Drain Plug Questions...

I have 06 and was wondering if the magnetic drain plug from the 07 will fit. Also, does anyone have the part number?

Thanks
Rich

I don't have part #'s but they're only about $2-3 a piece. Not only the cheapest part on a Corvette but probably the cheapest part in a Chevy dealership! When installing ,be sure to torque to 18 Ft.lbs. Cheapest insurance out there.
You might also want to get magnetic plugs for your trans (if MN) & diff.

I have an 07 and removed the mag plug to replace with a valve.

Get the huge oil filter magnet for $9. It has not come off in 6000 miles of driving.

07's switched filter type, oil pressure bypass method ... reason for the magnetic oil drain plug. Previously 100% oil went through the filter even when bypassing excess pressure, hence no need for magnet. 07's changed the bypass method, hence need the magnet back.

I'd put the mag drain plug back on that '07. Having the magnet on the filter isn't the same, oil is bypassing the filter at times.
