Default New Cam Install, Lsa Advice

Hi All
I am having MTI in Houston install a C2 cam in my C-6, 6-speed,headers,high flow cats, vararam intake, underdrive crank pulley, Borla touring. They are doing before and after numbers. The install will include pushrods and springs and tune. The cam numbers are 224/224 .581/.581. The question is, they gave me a choice of 112 or 114 lsa. They said the 112 would be a little more lumpy no info as to the performance difference. Any opinions?
Thanks all

id go with 114, this will still give you cam sound but not be as harsh.

Manual Trans: 112 LSA
Auto Trans: 114 LSA

(you said you had a 6 speed, but so do I, but it's a 6 speed automatic)

I would do the 112lsa if you don't mind a little lumpier cam. It will bring the power on sooner and have some more power under the curve.

Thanks for all the advice. I do have a 6-speed manual and I am looking for the most power with my set-up. I think the 112 lsa is the one to go with.

I thought it was the other way around, bigger lsa moves the powerband to lower rpm's.

wider LSA moves the power band up and lowers the low to mid power in favor of a bigger peak number.

With a small 224 cam there will hardly be a difference. The dcr will be slightly higher so guys looking to leave the heads alone will be better off opting for the 112 even with an auto.
