I realize theres a million questions about tires/wheels and Ive scoured this forum but I need to ask any way so bare with me. I have a 2005 coupe with stock rims. What is the widest tire I can put on the front and back and how thick can I go on the height? The stock GY runflats are too bumpy for my taste so I would like a thicker tire. And as far as width I want as much tire on the rim as possible. Im sure I am asking this question sorta goofy like a true tire novice but thats because I am. Last but not least I will probably go with the Firestone wide oval or the michelin ps2's. coments on either tire would be greatly appreciated. Does Firestone make a tire thats one size bigger height and width that will still fit on ther stock rim?
Hey Pete,
I just upsized my tires to BFG KDW II's (255/295). It does give the tire a bit more sidewall. Just changing to a non runflat tire has helped the harshness considerably too. Here is a post I just did showing the tires and giving full size comparisons, etc. Hope this helps!
Good question. Not sure IF they even make an upsized runflat for the C6 or not. The first thing would be to check tirerack.com to see if they have the sizes in a runflat.
Once you find a brand, I would call the manfacturer to see what they think about running a larger tire on a stock size rim.

if you go to tirerack.com each manufacturer they sell for has a chart on recommended rim size for each tire manufacturer. Usually you can bump up one size like 285 to a 295 without much problem over their chart size,
