Default Best Cam for these Modifications:

Any recommendations for the best cam for these particular mods on my 2007 C6. It is basically my weekend car and I do not drive it on a daily basis:

Vararam CAI
Kooks LT headers (3/4)
Kooks high-flow cats
Corsa Sport Cat-back exhaust
B&M shifter

Any comments and insights are greatly appreciated.

Go with an agressive cam if you stick with stock heads, you could run a sleeper cam if you put on some aftermarket heads.

Wouldnt you want a stealthy cam with stock heads, or an aggressive cam with aftermarket heads? I was planning on doing stealthy cam on stock heads...bad idea?

Those are all good mods but none of them really play a part in going with one grind over another. It's depends more on your goals at this point. Peak HP, torque monster, area under the curve, stock idle, wild idle, etc.

Our Stage 1 or 2 cam would work very well.

The current thinking by most hot rodders is that if you have an aftermarket head that flows really good, you really don't need a wild cam. However, if you stick with the stock heads then you can benefit more from going to a more aggressive cam.

With a texas speed torquer2 you will get 435 rwhp with the stock heads and your mods. If you go with heads and want optimum compression you may need to flycut if you go as big as a 232 cam. A 228/232 and 8.7 dcr is the biggest that fits without flycutting. Andy at A&A stocks that cam. Works well with etp and trick flows. Keep in mind that some heads with different valve angles will allow bigger cams. The ETP have an 11degree angle and the TF's have a 13.5 allowing a 236 cam with the use of the TF's and bigger with the ETP's. Afr's and all 243 options are limited as I have already noted.

Why the myth that stock heads require a wimp cam is beyond me. Any cam that works with heads will be better than a smaller cam in the stock displacement 6 liter. No, a small stealth cam will not be better than a 232 or even a 236 cam with stock heads.
