Default contemplating headers

I have a 2007 C6 Black with Black/Red interior. I have put on about 800 miles. I have recently installed a hurst shifter, vortex air intake and B&B bullets exhaust. Love it all! I am wondering if anyone has any feedback on whether or not it is advisable to install headers and crosspipe. Appreciate any input.

If you install headers with your Bullets, you will go insane. Ask me how I know? It was so loud inside my car, that everything vibrated and rattled under excelleration. After a 10 minuted ride, your ears would ring. Is that what your looking for?

This is true. My friend did the Dynatech and Bullets and it was so loud he was going to put the stock back on and ebay the Bullets. Instead I talked him into exhaust cones from Summit . Basically the are installed in the bullets and slow the exhaust and reflect the sound forward for noise cancellation. It worked great and the car is just as fast and mean but not deadly.

Headers are a very good mod. Even nicer when done with a X-pipe. Definitely get a tune done afterwards. The headers will affect your current tune.

I'm having that done right now. I Have the B&B Bullets and I'm having a cam, American Racing Headers w/x-pipe and tune done by the "Vette Doctors". I was talking to Nick at American Racing Headers and he suggested that I might want to put the stock exhaust back on. Hmmm. I hope it's not too loud

I'd lose the bullets and apply the $$ on that sale to a set of headers. The headers make power, the Bullets make noise.

Default Headers

I'll try to get a sound clip sometime this week.
Just finished taking off the rear fenders and installing fender flares from Specter Werkes, to fit the Z06 wheels & tires I got, I'm sending them to the painters.
Once they get back and I can put them on, hopefully mid week, I'll take her outside and record a sound clip.
I have also been seriously thinking about a Fast intake manifold and possibly a mild cam. I would like to be in the 400-450RWHP range.
I'll keep you posted.

I love headers, I want headers, but I worry about EPA and Emissions testing. There are some really **** inspectors out there. I got failed on my C5 because my hood (SC C5) was a half inch to high in the rear.

Check with some locals and your states inspection requirements. If you do add headers, it would be smart to keep the stock equipment handy if you need them later on.

BTW, If you complete your profile, members local to you can add locally relevant comments to your posts.

have same set-up and it is not too loud until you stomp it - the x-pipe is the key to cabin drone -at cruise there is not unusual sound or level of sound. I will be adding heads and cam and will probably lose the Corsa Indys and go with the Z06 ti.

Just installed headers this weekend. WOW! The ECU has not had enough cycles to readjust, but it now has kick-a$$ power. Sound is unbelieveable. Much deeper and the sound at WOT is outstanding.
