Future C6 TPMS Sensors?

Future C6 TPMS Sensors?
Saw these new "rubber style TPMS sensors" come off a late MY build 2007 Tahoe...
Wonder when/if we'll see something like this on the C6, or other GM passenger cars?
Looks like the more conventional rubber valve stem would work with "regular" (non-TPMS flanged) wheels...
Could be a pre-cursor of GM's mass produced TPMS to meet the Fall 2007 NHTSA mandate that all passenger cars be equipped with TPMS for the 2008 MY...looks like it could work with a cheap steel wheel (think Cobalt here)...
